What Texting Software Do Direct Sales Consultants Use?

The short answer

There is no single tool the industry has settled on — consultants buy different software because they are solving different problems. The options split into general business SMS platforms (Project Broadcast), CRMs that include texting (Connection Point, PartyPerfect Pro), relationship and activity coaches (Teamzy, Penny), and social-media schedulers (CinchShare), which do not send texts at all.

The four groups

  • General business SMS platforms — built to send a lot of messages to a lot of people. Project Broadcast is the example below — it sells to relationship-based businesses generally rather than to direct sales specifically.
  • CRMs that include texting — your contacts and your messages in the same place. Connection Point and PartyPerfect Pro sit here.
  • Relationship and activity coaches — tools that tell you who to contact today rather than sending for you. Teamzy and Penny.
  • Social-media schedulers — CinchShare being the best known. Worth saying plainly: these do not send texts.

If you mostly need to send, look at the first group. If you need to remember, look at the third. If you run parties and want the texting, the host coaching and the records in one place, look at the second.

What consultants actually use it for

Direct sales is unusual as a sales job: the unit of work is a party, not a deal. A host agrees to gather guests, the consultant coaches that host in the days beforehand, guests are invited and reminded, orders come in over a few days, and then everyone gets followed up — some to reorder, a few to book their own party, one or two to join the team.

That shape is why generic sales software tends to fit badly. A tool built around “leads” and “deals” has nowhere to put a host, no concept of a party date to schedule reminders against, and no way to tell you that a guest at last month’s party has not been contacted since. The jobs consultants are actually buying software to do are narrower than “CRM”:

  • Message a whole list individually, without a group thread everyone can reply into
  • Send host coaching on a schedule tied to the party date, without remembering to
  • Keep a personal mobile number private
  • Know who was at which party, what they ordered, and when they were last contacted
  • Follow up after the party without doing it by hand for forty people

The options, by price

What distinguishes each

CinchShare

A social-media scheduler. Its published feature list covers Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Bluesky, plus a library of 30,000+ social posts. Texting is not part of what it does.

Best for: Consultants whose business runs on social posting and who want scheduling and content, not messaging.

Penny

In its own words, an app that "generates a daily to-do list based on your prospects, customers and team mates so you know what to do each day", built for social sellers.

Best for: Consultants who want a prompt telling them who to contact today and are happy sending the message from their own phone.

Connection Point

A customer-communication and relationship tool with texting included. It is not direct-sales-only: its own site lists independent sales representatives alongside financial services, nonprofits, franchises and real estate.

Best for: Consultants who want CRM plus texting and do not need party-specific structure.

PartyPerfect Pro

A CRM and SMS platform built only for direct sales, where the objects are parties, hosts, guests, bookings and orders. It runs text parties, automates host coaching on a schedule tied to the party date, and sends broadcasts individually rather than as a group thread.

Best for: Consultants who run parties and want the texting, the host coaching and the contact records in one place.

Teamzy

Describes itself as a CRM for network marketers that "organizes and manages your relationships", built around a daily income-producing-activity routine.

Best for: Consultants who want a coaching-style daily routine and a disciplined follow-up habit above all else.

Project Broadcast

A full-featured business SMS platform — broadcasts, keywords, campaigns, ringless voicemail. It positions itself for "relationship-based businesses" and lists industries including automotive, healthcare, real estate and recruiting; direct sales is not one of its named verticals. Powerful and general rather than party-shaped.

Best for: Consultants who want deep messaging automation and are comfortable building the party workflow themselves.

Where PartyPerfect Pro is the wrong choice

We build PartyPerfect Pro, so treat the section above as our reading of the market rather than a neutral referee’s. The honest limits are worth stating, because a tool that suits everybody suits nobody:

  • You do not run parties. Most of what you would pay for is party machinery. A relationship CRM or a plain SMS platform is the better spend.
  • Your business is social content. If the work is posting rather than messaging, a scheduler does that job and we do not.
  • You need very deep messaging automation. A dedicated SMS platform will go further on branching campaigns and volume than we do.
  • You want a free tier. We do not have one — there is a 30-day free trial, then a single paid plan.

How to choose in practice

Four questions settle it faster than a feature matrix:

  1. Is texting included, or extra? Several tools here bill messages separately from the subscription. That gap widens as your list grows, so compare the message price, not just the monthly one.
  2. Does it understand parties? If you run parties, a tool with hosts, guests and party dates as real objects will save you more than a better-looking generic CRM.
  3. Do you get your own number? A dedicated business number is the difference between customers having your work line and having your personal mobile.
  4. Can you leave? Check that you can export your contacts before you import them.

Sources and method

Every figure and description above is taken from the vendor’s own public pricing or feature pages, read on 28 August 2026. Prices change and plans get renamed — these links are the authority, not this page.

What is not here. This list covers tools whose pricing and positioning we could read on the vendor’s own live site. Products we could not verify that way are left out rather than described from memory or from third-party directories, which are frequently out of date. That is a deliberate omission, not a judgement on the products.
